Writing Update.

Hello all you awesome people! My goodness it’s been over a month since I last posted here. My how the time flies! This has been much overdue, but it has been a crazy month. So let’s start with some bad news, and then turn to the good news so we end things on a good note. Haha

Well, sadly my novel I was querying “Shadow Clave” has been rejected by all the agents I sent it to. So sadly that project will have to go on the back burner until I figure out what to do with it. (Keep seeking an agent or self publish…hhhmmmm) Also more sad news: The YouTube channel I was writing skits for, well, it’s going through some changes and a little restructuring (Nothing over the top bad or anything) but this means that the skits I wrote will have to be pushed back.

But the good news far outweighs the bad! The skits may have been pushed back but they are still going hard with making mead videos and they asked me to play a bigger roll. So I am now filming TikToks for them as my character “Beau”, Mead with Erick and Derricks Creative Sensei. Definitely check them out @themeadguys . Not only will you learn some great mead making tips, you will also see some hilarious videos sure to make you laugh/shake your head!

As for writing? Well April was Camp NaNoWriMo. What is that you ask? It’s a challenge you set for yourself for the month, it could be writing a certain word count, or a certain editing goal, really anything you want to achieve. I treated it like an actual NaNoWriMo and chose to try and write 50,000 words in the month… and I did it! I had to push off “Rules of a Tyrant” but I did so for a great reason. See, I had a short story published in an anthology a couple years ago that is no longer in publication. So rights to the short story returned to me. Recently I have been chatting with many awesome authors on Twitter and for their help would ask if they would care to read the short story. Everyone one of them stated that they loved it and wished it was longer/ that I’d turn it into a series. Now, when I first wrote the short story it did spark an idea for a series but I wanted to focus on Shadow Clave at the time so I shelfed the idea. But with such overwhelming responses I decided to flip things and shelf Shadow Clave for the time being and focus on this other series. “The Death Blossom Saga.” I wrote book two “Order of Axis” during the month of April and am now working on rewriting the short story. It’s a lot to get into right now so maybe I’ll explain things more clear in a different post.

That being said, I also have a cover design for book one, but want to wait until I have it fully written before I do the big reveal. I will also start working on some other goodies as well! The goal is to have book one out by the end of summer with book two hopefully later in the year… That’s right, two books by the end of the year, with many more to come, as fast as I can write, edit, and do all the fun behind the scenes stuff that needs to happen for a book to be ready for publishing. But don’t worry, I will definitely keep everyone updated on the progress of things!

Well I think that’s all for now! Definitely check me out on social media and write to say hello! Until next time: Stay Happy, Stay Healthy, and Stay Magical!

Just a busy man wanting to become a published author. Father to five kids and a pile of animals. I create my own meads, write pretty much any moment I can spare, and I actually enjoy washing dishes (but don't tell the wife that!)
